Pure Resources approves exploration budget to explore remaining 95% of LaForge Project, Canada

Pure Resources (ASX:PR1) has approved an exploration budget to explore the remaining 95% of the LaForge Project in Quebec, Canada.

During initial exploration, Pure Resources had only covered less than 5% of the 216km-square project area and was unable to proceed with exploration due to snow covering the area.

The company reports that as part of the exploration programs, detailed satellite data acquisitions and analysis will begin soon with the intention of identifying lithium-bearing pegmatites. Additionally, Pure Resources has approved work programs to identify these pegmatites on the ground, before planned drill testing in the latter half of 2023.

Commenting on the exploration program, Pure Resources Executive Chairman Patric Glovac says: “It is worth mentioning due to the extensive snow cover over the projects, the field team covered less than 5% of the 216km-square project area and focused their efforts on windswept, outcropping areas to sample rock types prospective for lithium, as well as gold and base metals.

“The planned work program will cover the remaining 95% of the project as well as revisiting the first 5% of the area covered”

The planned work program will cover the remaining 95% of the project as well as revisiting the first 5% of the area covered. We are pleased to have engaged Apex Geoscience Ltd to expand the initial reconnaissance program and implement a significant field program, followed by drilling, to be completed during the year.”

Pure reports it has engaged geological consulting company Apex Geoscience to expand the initial reconnaissance program with a ‘significant’ field program. This program will be followed by drilling expected to be completed during the year.

The LaForge lithium project is situated about 65km northeast of mineral exploration company Patriot Battery Metals’ (ASX:PMT) CV5 lithium discovery in Quebec, Canada.

Pure Resources is an ASX-listed exploration company focused on exploring future facing commodities. The company’s existing portfolio contains tenements prospective for copper, gold, and nickel.
