Provenance Gold (CSE:PAU) has entered a newly permitted area via drilling within the Eldorado Project in eastern Oregon, US, after receiving further drill results from its current works campaign.
The drilling program in the new area includes stepouts into the Herman area 650m to the south of Zone 1, extensions of Zone 4 farther west into previously untested areas, and selected targets for coming drilling.
Provenance Gold aims to expand the broad, pervasive mineralised gold system, as well as locate additional high-grade feeder zones or structures.
Chairman Rauno Perttu says the company believes this program could unlock more feeder structures hundred of metres in several directions from last year’s drilling.
This news comes after four reverse circulation drillholes, totalling 647m of drilling, confirmed multiple shallow-dipping mineralised sheets that connect historical mineralised areas into a single, cohesive system.
Some of the results include 1.52m @ 160.6 grams per tonne gold; 28.96m @ 1.08g/t gold, including 7.62m @ 2.46g/t gold; and 24.38m @ 0.82g/t gold, 12.19m @ 1.37g/t gold.
Perttu adds the most “exciting” part of this program is that the company believes it only covers a small portion of the gold system hosted within the project.
The drilling program was designed to confirm the extent of gold mineralisation within Zones 1 to 4 of the Tyee area and continue to demonstrate connectivity between the zones, as well as test for mineralised feeder structures within the gold system.
Assays are pending for three holes totalling 640m.
As previously reported, Provenance expanded the Eldorado West Project, with a second drill rig commissioned for the next phase of drilling.
The Eldorado Project, located 60km northwest of Vale in Malheur County, Oregon, US, hosts a historical estimate of 1.98 million ounces @ 0.753g/t gold.
