Prairie Lithium (ASX:PL9) has begun construction at the flagship Pad #1 site within the company’s namesake lithium project in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Piles are currently being installed at the project, with grade beams already on-site for construction.
At the Prairie Lithium Project, prefabricated structural building panels are also under construction, which the company says compresses the overall construction timeline due to the concurrent workstreams.
This follows site preparation, geotechnical analysis, permitting, and power infrastructure installation at the project.
Prairie says the engineering approach the company is implementing at the project ensures “long-term structural integrity for heavy commercial-scale processing equipment” required for lithium production.
Managing Director Paul Lloyd says installing deep-driven piles at the site is a “critical” step in derisking the project.
“We aren’t just building a site; we are engineering a robust, commercial-scale foundation designed to support heavy processing infrastructure and ensure the long-term integrity of our flagship facility,” Lloyd says.
