Power Metallic Mines (TSX-V:PNPN) has received the final assay results from a winter 2026 drilling program at the Lion Zone in Canada, which will form the basis for a resource estimate.
The mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the Lion Zone and Nisk deposit are scheduled for the end of July 2026. The resource will form the basis for a preliminary economic assessment, which will begin immediately following the completion of the MRE.
Infill drill holes in the shallow central parts of the deposit continue to report ‘good’ near-surface grades as evidenced by hole PML-26-116 which intersected copper near-surface with 36.42m @ 2.83% copper-equivalent at 75m below surface, including semi-massive mineralisation with 6m @ 12.38% copper-equivalent.
Power Metallic is expecting more assay results from the summer 2026 drilling program, including regional exploration in the weeks to come.
This news comes after Power Metallic received assays in late June, which returned 3.30m @ 3.98% copper-equivalent at 25m below surface, and 5.26 m @ 8.45% copper-equivalent at approximately 140m below surface.
The Lion Zone is part of the broader Nisk Project which is a copper-platinum group elements, nickel, gold, and silver system. The company is expanding mineralisation at the Nisk and Lion zones, evaluating the Tiger target, and exploring the enlarged land package through drill programs.
