Power Metallic delivers polymetallic metallurgical results

Power Metallic Mines (TSX-V:PNPN) has released preliminary metallurgical results from representative mineralisation samples collected at the Lion Zone at the Nisk Project in Québec, Canada.

The company engaged SGS Canada to conduct metallurgical testwork at its laboratories in Québec and Lakefield, Ontario. An initial lock cycle test (LCT) produced a sulphide concentrate grading 25.8% copper, containing high metal recoveries of copper (98.9%), palladium (93.9%), platinum (96.8%), gold (85%), and silver (88.9%), exceeding the company’s estimates for recovery.

Earlier sulphide flotation concentration tests on the three composites showed similar recovery rates, as previously reported by Mining.com.au. SGS subsequently performed an LCT on the blended composite, representing run-of-mine feed for conventional floatation. The LCT test serves as a laboratory scale flowsheet, providing insight into a potential future mill circuit for the Lion deposit.

The LCT showed high recovery of copper, platinum group elements, silver, and gold, with a good recovery of nickel as well.

SGS has commented that the testwork “demonstrates encouraging flotation performance and supports the potential suitability of the mineralisation for a conventional flotation flowsheet”.

“These results suggest potential opportunities for the transformation of the concentrate into value-added products, including advanced materials for various economic sectors, such as battery and energy storage, electrification, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing,” says SGS.

Power Metallic Mines is a Canadian exploration company, advancing the Nisk Project area into Canada’s next polymetallic mine. The company exhibited at last week’s Future Minerals Forum (FMF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

FMF is organised by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and took place from 13-15 January 2026. Mining.com.au had a team on the floor at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre and was also an official media partner.
