Pivotal target gold at Lorraine prospect, Québec

Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT) has identified gold targets in the Lorraine Mine within its wholly owned Belleterre-Angliers Greenstone Belt (BAGB) projects in Québec in Canada.

Spanning 86.5km2 of the Lac des Bois segment, the Lorraine prospect has a “high-grade” magnetic copper nickel extension with mineralisation defined to a depth greater than 400m.

Pivotal, which has a market capitalisation of $5.44 million, has begun field work to delineate the gold-copper quartz veins in a detailed mapping and sampling program.

Managing Director Ivan Fairhall says the company is planning an aggressive summer field program to establish the continuity of the broad gold-copper-quartz vein system adjacent to the Lorraine mine to develop drill targets for immediate follow up.

“A high-resolution UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) magnetic survey will support the field program,” Fairhall says.

“This work forms part of our broader strategy to make exciting new discoveries to complement our in-parallel resource growth and development activities at the advanced Horden Lake copper-nickel-platinum group elements-gold deposit.”

The gold-copper quartz vein system has previously returned grades from sixth level channel sampling including 28m @ 45.2 grams per tonne gold and 3.2% copper in the underground crosscut with an estimated thickness of 0.28m, as well as 9.5m @ 14.1g/t gold and 3.2% copper in along-strike crosscut with an estimated thickness of 0.51m.

Historical drilling also reported visible gold in drillholes 20-CM-01 and 20-CM-02, when drilling 40m to 60m above the sixth level.

Gold mineralisation in the prospect holds potential for a 600m corridor open in all directions, with highlights including 0.7 @ 4.4g/t gold from drilling and 5.5g/t gold and 0.47% copper.

Pivotal Metals is an exploration company focused on the development of copper, nickel and platinum group element deposits across its portfolio in Québec.
