Pivotal secures Canadian grant for Horden Lake

Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT) has secured just under C$105,000 ($119,000) in a grant to conduct a metallurgical testwork program on the Horden Lake Project in Québec, Canada.

The grant from Québec’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests is designed to help mineral explorers conduct development of projects aimed at the discovery and development of critical and strategic minerals in Québec.

Pivotal will receive the first tranche of $70,000 sometime this month, which will support the company progress metallurgical testwork. The testwork aims to support future development of Horden Lake.

Managing Director Ivan Fairhall says this contribution highlights the level of support given to mineral explorers developing domestic supply of critical metals in the province.

“We are pleased to have been selected to participate in this program and see this grant funding as recognition of the credibility and importance of the Horden Lake Project in Québec’s pipeline of future critical metals mines,” Fairhall says.

The company recently completed over 1,500m of drilling on high-priority shallow electromagnetic targets, generated from a property wide survey.

At a federal level, Canada has established a C$1.5 billion Critical Minerals Infrastructure Fund that is designed to facilitate sustainable critical minerals production and connect valuable resources to market through the support of clean energy and sustainable critical minerals production.

Pivotal Metals is a global developer and explorer focused primarily on critical minerals.

The company holds the recently acquired flagship Horden Lake property, which contains a JORC-compliant indicated and inferred mineral resource estimate of 27.8 million tonnes at 1.49% copper equivalent, comprising copper, nickel, palladium, and gold. Pivotal intends to grow the mineral endowment of Horden Lake, in parallel with de-risking the project from an engineering, environmental and economic perspective.
