Pinnacle probes pegmatite potential in Canadian project

Pinnacle Minerals (ASX:PIM) is planning to conduct a Light Detection and Ranging survey over the entire Adina East Project in Canada during spring.

The LiDAR survey will aim to uncover potential pegmatite outcrops, as well as facilitate efficient and targeted fieldwork.

Pinnacle expects to begin fieldwork between May and June 2024, starting with the LiDAR survey.

The company notes high resolution orthophotos taken simultaneously with the LiDAR readings will be draped over the digital evaluation model (DEM), enabling the identification of potential pegmatite outcrops.

Pinnacle Minerals Managing Director Nic Matich says there are several opportunities to explore for key commodities, such as lithium, uranium, and mineral sands.

“Whilst no lithium discovery was made in Canada during the first pass reconnaissance program(s) it must be understood that the field team only scratched the surface for less than 5 days prior to the onset of the snow cover.

Pinnacle remains confident of its flagship Adina East Project and has begun formalising the 2024 field campaign(s) which aim to cover the entire claim package to maximise the likelihood of exploration success.”

Matich notes that fieldwork will begin once the snow cover has melted, which is likely to be in May 2024.

Pinnacle’s exploration contractor IOS Services Géoscientifiques is currently working to schedule summer exploration plans for its Quebec lithium projects.

This news comes after Pinnacle received assay results from the latest autumn brief reconnaissance programs conducted in late 2023 from Adina East and the Lac Rug Project.

The company reports assays from rock chip samples have not returned lithium enrichment from both projects.

However, Pinnacle notes ‘significant’ rubidium enrichment up to 0.12% has been identified on some granites.

Pinnacle says this indicates intense magmatic fractionation, which is a precursor to lithium fractionation.

The company will be using the fractionation ration data in conjunction with the LiDAR and orthophotos to support targeted field work scheduled to begin shortly.

Pinnacle Minerals is a technology minerals explorer with assets in Canada, Western Australia, and South Australia.

As of 30 December 2023, the company had $2.3 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
