A strong gold price has underpinned Perseus Mining’s (ASX:PRU) record revenue of US$1.25 billion ($1.91 billion) for FY2025, representing a 22% increase from a year earlier.
Gold’s spot price sat at US$3,394.4 per ounce as of 11am AEST, as reported by Trading Economics.
As of 30 June 2025, Perseus Mining had US$826.5 million cash and bullion at hand, alongside zero debt.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation totals US$740.3 million, representing an 18% from FY2024. The profit after tax totals US$421.7 million, which also increased 16% from FY2024.
Perseus, which has a market capitalisation of $5.16 billion, notes it has a net cash flow from operating activities of US$536.7 billion, representing a 25% increase.
CEO Jeff Quartermaine says this record financial results reflects a continuation of elevated gold prices and the consistent operating performance.
“Given our strong financial performance in FY25, our board has decided to increase capital returns to shareholders by declaring a final dividend of $0.05 per share, bringing the full FY25 dividend to $0.075 per share, 50% more than last year,” Quartermaine says.
“We have also decided to continue our program of buying back shares by investing a further $100 million in share buy backs over the next 12 months.”
Quartermaine notes in determining the quantum of these capital returns, the company has considered its cashflow generating capacity as well as the capital investment program that lies ahead for Perseus as it develops the Nyanzaga Gold Project in Tanzania and the CMA Underground Project at the Yaouré Gold Mine in Côte d’Ivoire.
During FY25, the company contributed US$813 million to its host countries, including Tanzania and Sudan, as well as US$5.6 million in community contributions to Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana.
Perseus Mining is an Australian mining company that currently operates three gold mines in Africa.
