Turaco Gold (ASX:TCG) has appointed Jessica Volich and Brett Gossage as non-executive directors, effective immediately, following the resignation of Bruce Mowat.
Volich has more than 25 years of experience across the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors, with a focus on environmental, social, and governance strategy, risk oversight, and stakeholder management.
Her experience spans Australia, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and Russia, including operational leadership in Côte d’Ivoire. She has previously held sustainability roles with Perseus Mining (ASX:PRU), South32 (ASX:S32), and BHP Group (ASX:BHP), and currently advises Resource Capital Funds and Gold Fields (JSE:GFI).
Gossage is a geologist with more than 35 years of experience, specialising in resource and reserve estimation. He co-founded resource fund manager and mining advisory business Orimco in 2012 and remains a director.
His previous roles include principal at RSG Global and general manager for technical development at Coffey Mining. Gossage has also completed technical due diligence and advisory assignments for mining projects globally, including across West Africa.
Volich and Gossage will stand for election at Turaco’s next annual general meeting, expected in May 2027.
Subject to shareholder approval, Turaco proposes to grant each director 500,000 performance rights under its incentive securities plan. Half will vest if the board makes a final investment decision for the Afema Gold Project and the director completes at least two years of continuous service from the grant date. The remainder will vest upon first gold production at Afema.
Mowat has stepped down after almost five years on Turaco’s board to focus on his role as general manager for exploration at Resolute Mining (ASX:RSG).
Chair John Fitzgerald thanks Mowat for his contribution during a period of resource growth and technical advancement at Afema.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to welcome Brett and Jessica as directors of Turaco and thank Bruce for his almost five years’ service as a director providing invaluable insights and expertise during a period of rapid growth at Turaco,” Fitzgerald says.
The project in southeastern Côte d’Ivoire hosts a 4.65 million ounce (Moz) gold mineral resource estimate and a 1.91Moz probable ore reserve.
