Perpetual Resources (ASX:PEC) has begun its maiden due diligence exploration program at the recently acquired Isabella Lithium Project in Brazil.
The first phase will focus on a high-impact rock chip sampling campaign, targeting known spodumene-containing artisanal workings and expanding on these areas.
Perpetual Resources, which has a market capitalisation of $7.68 million, says this first-pass surface exploration is expected to yield high-potential lithium anomalies, aiming to establish Isabella as an advanced lithium exploration project in the region.
The results are expected to inform the establishment of a second phase drill target selection, which will be scheduled as early as feasible.
An aggressive prospectivity assessment through on-the-ground reconnaissance work is currently being undertaken at Isabella, focusing on the known and potentially expanded set of spodumene-bearing artisanal workings.
Perpetual adds the work is also focused on conducting in-depth assessments of pegmatite occurrences in the region.
The activities will target consolidating and expanding spodumene occurrences in the northern portions of the licence, while also establishing preliminary assessments in the southern portfolios, which is yet to be systematically explored.
Results from the current exploration campaign are expected later this quarter.
The Isabella Project, which lies in Minas Gerais, Brazil, is considered a greenfields opportunity and has confirmed “high-grade” lithium mineralisation, with rock chip assays recording values up to 5.62% lithium oxide.
These findings align with two trends, extending up to 1.8km, delineated by artisanal workings that target the pegmatites.
Perpetual Resources is a mineral explorer and developer focused on critical minerals essential to the fulfillment of global new energy requirements. The company has projects in Brazil and Western Australia.
