Perenti signs billion-dollar underground mining contract

Perenti (ASX:PRN) has signed a $1.1 billion contract for its joint venture subsidiary Underground Mining Services Burkina Faso (UMS) to undergo mining at the Mana complex for Endeavour Mining (LSE:EDV) subsidiary, SEMAFO Burkina Faso.

Contracted for five years from 1 June 2025, UMS is expected to complete underground development, production, and other related mining services

The company is to target the Siou and Wana prospects of the Mana complex, which contains “high-grade” gold within the Houndé Greenstone Belt of Burkina Faso.

UMS is expanding on the operations already conducted by African Underground Mining Services Burkina Faso, which has been delivering underground mining and related support services at Mana since 2018.

Perenti CEO Mark Norwell says the contract is consistent with the company’s guidance for FY25 and will contribute strongly in FY26 and beyond

“Our team continually delivers exceptional value for our clients, and this is clearly demonstrated by this long-term contract for expanded operations at the Mana complex,” Norwell says.

President of Contract Mining Gabrielle Iwanow says that building this new contract with Endeavour backs the company’s commitment to delivering for both clients and the community.

“We are proud to be working alongside our local JV partner Dynamic Mining Supply to take further steps to support development of local procurement, capability and employment in Burkina Faso,” Iwanow says.

“The success of these partnerships is built on trust, reliability, and the outstanding capabilities of our team.”

SEMAFO Burkina Faso is a Canada-based subsidiary of Endeavour Mining that is focused on the exploration and production of gold projects in West Africa.

Perenti, which has a market capitalisation of $1.46 billion, is a global mining services group that is dedicated to its businesses in contract mining, drilling services, mining support services, and technology solutions.
