Perenti (ASX:PRN) subsidiary Barminco has secured a $275 million underground mining contract at Barrick Mining’s (NYSE:B) Fourmile Project in Nevada.
Commencing in July 2026, the 45-month contract involves approximately 16km of underground development, ground support, surface facilities, and associated mining services.
The contract requires approximately $39 million of growth capital in the 2027 financial year.
CEO Vanessa Torres says securing the contract represents an “exciting development” for the company’s North America team.
“This supports our strategy to expand operations in tier one mining jurisdictions and continues our disciplined growth into the North American market with both Barminco and Swick,” Torres says.
President of Contract Mining Gabrielle Iwanow adds that the North American market represents the largest hard-rock underground mining market globally.
“Fourmile represents another important step in our growth strategy. We look forward to bringing Barminco’s focus on safety, quality and productivity to Fourmile, and to supporting Barrick as they advance this important project,” Iwanow says.
Fourmile sits adjacent to the Goldrush Project where Barminco already operates for Nevada Gold Mines, a joint venture between Barrick and Newmont (NYSE:NEM).
Perenti is a diversified global mining services group operating in more than 19 countries across four continents.
