Patriot Battery Metals records lithium grades up to 5.10% at Corvette Property in Canada

ASX-listed mineral exploration company Patriot Battery Metals (ASX:PMT) has recorded lithium grades up to 5.10% lithium (Li2O) at the CV5 Pegmatite, located within the Corvette Property in Quebec, Canada.

The company says these results come from the final 10 drillholes completed at the CV5 Pegmatite in the 2022 drilling campaign. These holes were targeting mineralisation at the eastern extent of the currently defined CV5 Pegmatite as well as at depth over the central and eastern areas.

‘Significant’ results recorded include CV22-093 with 52.2m @ 3.34% Li2O from 219.1m to 271.2m including 15m @ 5.10% Li2O, which is the easternmost hole drilled at CV5. This hole was completed as a 100m step-out along strike of drillhole CV22-083 which intersected 25m @ 5.04% Li2O.

The company reports the result of CV22-093 confirms the extension of the ‘high-grade’ Nova Zone eastward by at least 100m as previously intersected in drillholes CV22-017, CV22-042, CV22-066, and CV22-083. Collectively, these holes define a strike length for this ‘high-grade’ zone of about 350m which remains open to the east.

“The results herein conclude the release of core assays from the 2022 drill campaign at the CV5 Pegmatite and we could not be more thrilled with the results”

Commenting on the results, Patriot Battery Metals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Blair Way says: “The results herein conclude the release of core assays from the 2022 drill campaign at the CV5 Pegmatite and we could not be more thrilled with the results.

We have exceeded all of our program objectives, expanding the known mineralised system from a few hundred metres along strike in 2021, to at least 2.2km in 2022, remaining open and demonstrating high-grades at both ends.

We have just recently commenced our 2023 drill campaign and will continue to aggressively delineate what we believe will be a top tier lithium asset globally when fully defined.”

Patriot reports the 2022 drill campaign at Corvette has ‘significantly’ expanded lithium mineralisation at the CV5 Pegmatite. The drilling to date has largely been completed at spacings of about 100m.

The principal spodumene pegmatite body, which is flanked by several secondary lenses, and has been traced by drilling over a distance of at least 2,200m, remains open along strike at both ends, and to depth along most of its length.

The final step-out hole to the west of the 2022 drill campaign, hole CV22-074 returned 16.9m @ 2% Li2O, which along with the results of CV22-093 demonstrates ‘high-grade’ results at both ends of the currently defined 2.2km spodumene pegmatite strike length, and remains open.

Along with the Corvette Property, the company also holds the Pontax Lithium-Gold Property in Quebec, the Hidden Lake Lithium Property in the Northwest Territories, and the Freeman Creek Gold Property in Idaho, US.
