Patriot Battery Metals (TSX:PMET) has extended the Vega Zone at its Corvette Property in Québec with the release of more results from its winter drilling campaign.
The zone is part of the CV13 spodumene pegmatite, which hosts the new “high-grade” Vega discovery.
The latest round of results include 33.4m @ 2.40% lithium, including 11.1m @ 4.33%; 17.6m @ 1.89%, including 5.6m @ 3.40%; and 43.2m @ 1.10%, including 12.9m @ 3.06%.
Patriot says the Vega Zone is open in several directions with the assays from multiple step-out holes still to be reported.
Vice President of Exploration Darren Smith says the immediate follow-up holes targeting an expansion of the high-grade Vega Zone have returned the widest and most well-mineralised pegmatite intercepts to date at CV13.
“This now also includes the highest grading individual core sample returned to date from Corvette at 7.01% Li2O (over 1.7m) from hole CV24-507 in the Vega Zone,” he says.
“The high-grade mineralisation is relatively flat-lying to shallow dipping and has now been delineated over a significant area and thickness.”
The mineralised pegmatite along the western arm at CV13 has been extended down-dip to over 400m with intercepts including 13.5m @ 1.15% lithium and 8.6m @ 1.21%.
Results for 83 holes are still pending from the 2024 winter drill program.
The Corvette Property is located in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region.
The CV13 spodumene pegmatite sits about 3km west-southwest of the CV5 spodumene pegmatite, which hosts a maiden inferred resource of 109.2 million tonnes @ 1.42% lithium.
Patriot expects to release an upgraded resource for Corvette, including a maiden resource for the new discovery at CV13, in the third quarter of the year.
