Patriot Battery Metals (ASX:PMT) has begun what it says is the largest lithium drilling program in Quebec across its Corvette Property in Canada.
The $503.33 million market capitalisation company says the 2024 drilling program at Corvette is targeting a minimum 45,000m of drilling over January to April this year. At least 10 drill rigs are planned to be utilised, which Patriot says makes it the largest lithium drilling program in Quebec.
Drilling will seek to improve the confidence of the maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) from the inferred to indicated category. An updated MRE is expected by Q3 2024.
According to Patriot, this is the most ‘aggressive’ drilling program undertaken by the company at Corvette.
The company notes the winter access road is complete and in operation to reduce the dependency on helicopters for the drilling program, which is expected to reduce the per metre cost ‘significantly’.
President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Director Blair Way says: “We have another huge year ahead of us with this aggressive drill campaign to upgrade the resource and continue to de-risk the project. It is an exciting time for the company.”
