Pantoro extends Lamboo PGE deposit to 1.5km strike with ‘outstanding’ step-out results

Pantoro Limited (ASX:PNR) has reported ‘outstanding’ results from maiden step-out drilling at the Lamboo platinum group element deposit within its 100%-owned Halls Creek Project, with drilling defining a further 1.2km of PGE mineralisation.

The results bring total strike at the prospect to 1.5km, defined out of a potential 20km stretch of basal contact. Highlights shallow hits include:

  • 100 m @ 1.10 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from surface; including
    • 66 m @ 1.34 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from surface
  • 120 m @ 0.96 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from surface; including
    • 31 m @ 1.24 g/t Pt +Pd +Au(3E) from 89 metres.
  • 118 m @ 0.90 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from surface; including
    • 46 m @ 0.98 g/t Pt +Pd +Au(3E) from 10 metres.
  • 46 m @ 1.11 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from surface
  • 22 m @ 1.11 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from surface
  • 31 m @ 0.90 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from 36 metres
  • 37 m @ 0.90 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from 14 metres
  • 71 m @ 0.59 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from 120 metres
  • 90 m @ 0.69 g/t Pt + Pd + Au (3E) from surface; including
    • 24 m @ 0.99 g/t Pt +Pd +Au (3E) from surface.

Speaking on these latest results, Pantoro Managing Director Paul Cmrlec said: “The Lamboo PGE deposit is rapidly shaping up as an outstanding discovery on the doorstep of our Halls Creek gold operations. Drilling to date has revealed a remarkably consistent deposit with large mineralisation widths commencing from surface over a long strike length.”

The Lamboo prospect is situation approximately 5km south of the Nicolsons Gold Mine in Western Australia’s Kimberley Region, with PGE mineralisation initially identified in 2006 via limited third-party drill testing over a small area of the basal portion within the folded Lamboo ultramafic complex.

Pantoro notes that mineralisation at the prospect is consistent over large drill intervals, with widths of up to 100m encountered from surface. The company believes that this points to potential for a ‘large’ bulk tonnage PGE resource.

Upcoming works at Lamboo include mapping and surface sampling throughout the wet season, followed by a ‘large’ drilling campaign when weather conditions permit in early 2022.
