Pacific Resources (ASX:PXR) has reported gold grades up to 2.41 grams per tonne from sampling at the Coupon prospect within its Sulphide Creek Gold-Antimony Project in Tasmania.
The 12 continuous one-metre channel samples from the southern wall between 20m and 30m along strike in a previously unrecorded adit include highlights of 2.41g/t gold and 2.30g/t gold in samples eight and nine, respectively.
These results confirm a coherent mineralised zone over approximately 12m of strike, with peak gold values within a west-dipping fault structure.
Multi-element assays reveal a positive correlation between gold and arsenic and antimony, with peak arsenic grades reaching 2,470 parts per million, and copper values also recorded across multiple samples.
“We are highly encouraged by these sampling results from our ongoing fieldwork at the Sulphide Creek Project,” CEO Andrew Fogg says.
“These results reaffirm our commitment to the Coupon Prospect as a priority gold-copper target and allow us to add another layer of validation to our exploration model for this target area.”
The Coupon prospect lies within the Ordovician Wurawina Supergroup, which comprises sandstones, siltstones, and shales. Reconnaissance mapping has identified an extensive alteration corridor exceeding 0.5km in width around the prospect area.
Pacific Resources plans to integrate the new results with underground mapping and historical drilling data into a three-dimensional geological model to optimise drill targeting.
A maiden diamond drilling program is planned at the prospect, with evaluation of geophysical survey methods also underway to enhance targeting along the broader Sulphide Creek corridor.
The Sulphide Creek Project is located in the Queenstown mining district of northwest Tasmania.
Pacific Resources holds 100% ownership of the tenement, which also includes the Mersey volcanogenic massive sulphide base metals and gold project.
