Pacific Resources completes Snowstorm gold sampling

Pacific Resources (ASX:PXR) has completed a 22-sample channel sampling program at the Snowstorm Gold Project in Victoria’s Eastern Goldfields, with laboratory results pending.

The program focused on historical underground workings in the southwestern part of the project, where five samples were collected. Further samples were taken from the northern project area.

Pacific designed the work to follow up previous gold results and assess mineralised structures identified across the Snowstorm tenure. The samples have been submitted for analysis, with material results to be released when available.

CEO Andrew Fogg says the campaign represents the company’s first sampling program at Snowstorm.

“This marks a meaningful step forward in our exploration plans for the project, which are designed to unlock the full potential of this exciting gold asset in Victoria’s Eastern Goldfields,” Fogg says.

Pacific entered a binding agreement in May to acquire a 100% interest in Snowstorm. A second and final payment of $200,000 was due to the vendors by 17 July to complete the transaction.

The project was previously explored by First Au (ASX:FAU), which conducted drilling during 2021 and 2022.

Snowstorm lies in the Swifts Creek–Omeo region of East Gippsland and is crossed by the Cassilis Shear Zone. Surface mapping has identified steeply dipping mineralised veins, while previous drilling and mapping indicate gold mineralisation occurs in folded structures hosted by northwest–southeast-trending shear zones.

The project adjoins exploration licence EL007335, part of a separate Eastern Victorian Goldfields portfolio, which Pacific says gives the company an option to acquire from First Au, subject to due diligence.

Pacific Resources is focused on gold, antimony, and base metal projects in Victoria and Tasmania, alongside its Blackall Coal Project in Queensland.
