Pacgold maps out 12km-long anomaly at Alice River

Pacgold (ASX:PGO) has defined a more than 12km geochemical anomaly at the Alice River Project in North Queensland in regional aircore drilling.

The company has received the final results of the aircore drilling which indicate a  continuous gold-arsenic-antimony geochemical anomaly on the Alice River Fault Zone.

The anomaly stretches from the Shadows prospect in the northwest to the Victoria prospect in the south.

As such, Pacgold is ready to test the anomaly with reverse circulation drilling in April 2025. The program will include testing all new high-priority anomalies defined by aircore drilling via reverse circulation and diamond drilling.

The program will also include follow-up reverse circulation drilling on the Central and Southern targets.

Additionally, Pacgold will expand the aircore drilling program to infill and extend the anomalies in areas not yet drilled.

Managing Director Matthew Boyes says these final results show the extensive scale of the project’s gold system.

“The limited development of a weathered profile at Alice River means that these geochemical results are purely just scratching the surface of the most leached mineralisation present in the underlying fresh rock,” Boyes says.

“The results are more analogous to a surface soil sample than a drillhole and have defined an outstanding continuous and consistent gold anomaly over a 12km open strike length which is largely undrilled.”

In conjunction with the geochemical anomaly delineated, aircore drilling also confirmed the parallel Posie Fault Zone as prospective and further aircore drilling is planned on this structure, interpreted to be at least 10km in strike.

An induced polarisation program will also be carried out in May this year on the extension of the Alice River Fault Zone and the parallel Posie Fault Zone.

The company notes this year will be drill-intensive and Pacgold is systematically assessing all ranked targets to show resource potential.

Pacgold is a junior mineral explorer focused on gold in the Northeast Queensland Mineral Province. The company owns the Alice River Gold Project which spans 377km2 and covers a historical goldfield and open pit mine.
