Orpheus turns up the heat at Erudina uranium prospect

Orpheus Uranium (ASX:ORP) has planned to commence its inaugural drilling program at the Erudina uranium prospect in early Q3 2026.

The program comprises up to 35 rotary mud drill holes for approximately 5,750m, targeting selected areas within a 10km-long interpreted uranium-bearing palaeochannel system at the company’s Frome Project in South Australia.

Historical drilling at Erudina has identified widespread uranium anomalism exceeding 100 parts per million (ppm) uranium oxide equivalent within 64 drill holes across a broad exploration target area.

Recent reinterpretation of historical drilling, stratigraphy, and palaeochannel architecture has identified multiple laterally and vertically developed redox boundaries, interpreted as potential stacked redox-controlled uranium mineralising positions.

Erudina is a compelling uranium target, with historical drilling identifying widespread anomalism across a large palaeochannel system and our reinterpretation highlighting multiple redox positions,” Managing Director Clinton Dubieniecki says.

This program will test that model, refine our understanding of scale and continuity, and provide a technical foundation for future work across Frome.

Erudina shares geological characteristics with nearby sediment-hosted uranium systems, including Boss Energy’s (ASX:BOE) 33.1-million-pound Gould’s Dam deposit, supporting the prospectivity of the Callabonna Sub-basin and associated Eyre Formation palaeochannels.

The Frome Project is located in the Callabonna Sub-basin, a region recognised for its prospectivity for sandstone-hosted uranium mineralisation.

Previous drilling intersected uranium mineralisation across the trend, including radiometric intervals exceeding 1,000ppm uranium oxide equivalent within porous Eyre Formation sands and reduced carbonaceous horizons associated with redox alteration.

Program commencement follows completion of technical reviews, stakeholder engagement, access arrangements, a heritage survey undertaken with Adnyamathanha representatives in May 2026, establishment of the Native Title Mining Agreement, and receipt of required regulatory approvals.

Results from the program will help refine the company’s geological model and guide future exploration at Erudina and the wider Frome Project. They will also support a staged evaluation toward a potential exploration target and, if results warrant, a JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate.
