Orange Minerals commences phase two drill program at Wisemans Creek Gold Project

Orange Minerals (ASX:OMX) has begun a phase two diamond drill program at its Wisemans Creek Gold Project in the Lachlan Fold Belt of New South Wales.

The company reports phase two drilling will be testing 2 specific areas, including the Central West and Northwest Ridge areas. At Central West, drilling will be following up on ‘significant’ phase one gold (Au) assay results, including hole OWCD004 with 24.6m @ 1.30g/t Au from 34.4m.

Additionally, at Northwest Ridge, drilling will be testing a number of ‘excellent’ historical intersections, including hole WDC004 with 19m @ 4.04g/t Au, 15g/t silver (Ag), 0.14% copper (Cu), 0.38% lead (Pb), 0.09% zinc (Zn) from 81m, and hole NRP001 with 17m @ 2.13g/t Au, 65g/t Ag, 0.28% Cu, 0.70% Pb, 0.88% Zn from 102m.

Commenting on the beginning of drilling at Wisemans, Orange Minerals Managing Director, David Greenwood, says: “The phase two drilling program has commenced at Wisemans Creek and the first hole will test underneath OWCD004 which returned an excellent result in the phase one program of 24.6m @ 1.30g/t Au from 34.4m.

“We also look forward to testing the Northwest area where there are a number of excellent historical results”

The company completed an initial diamond drill program at Wisemans Creek, drilling 4 diamond holes for 618m in 2022. The ‘significant’ gold intersection in hole OWCD004 is associated with an extensive quartz breccia zone, containing quartz veining and ‘strong’ sericite/carbonate alteration.

Orange Minerals is an ASX-listed gold and copper exploration company with Australian-based projects. The company’s Calarie, Wisemans Creek, Copper Hill, and Boda projects are located within the Lachlan Fold Belt of New South Wales. The company also has the Majestic and the Kurnalpi projects within the Eastern Gold Fields of Western Australia.
