Opawica Explorations (TSX-V:OPW) is continuing with its strategy to move west and systematically test and drill the fault within the Bazooka Project in Québec, Canada.
The western part of Bazooka contained historical gold mineralisation along the Cadillac-Larder Lake Fault, potentially representing a large, connected gold system ready for discovery.
CEO Blake Morgan says these activities will link up the zones and support discovering a new ‘high-grade’ zone.
“Based on the geology and the faults system plus the data from multiple other deposits in the region, we know multiple deposits across the fault can be found and connected to create multi-million ounce deposits,” Morgan says.
This news comes after recent drilling – focusing on the eastern site – revealed 19 mineralised zones with 15 zones carrying grades above 0.55 grams per tonne gold and up to 6.12g/t gold. Meanwhile, 16 zones had core lengths greater than 10m and up to 67.9m.
Morgan notes what the company has is a ‘high-grade’ zone to the east of Bazooka with some large bulk tonnage drill results in the same area.
“The Bazooka Property holds 7km of the Cadillac-Larder fault zone which is the gold bearing zone in this region,” he says.
“Further up the fault we have some remarkable historical drill values showing the potential to link up these zones, similar to the deposit contiguous to the Bazooka Property that was sold for C$25 million in December of 2024 by Yorbeau Resources (TSX:YRB).”
