Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY) is continuing to drill at Paquin prospect of the Bousquet Project in Canada, after receiving the first assays from two drillholes.
Further drilling will target establishing a link between the Amadee and Paquin mineralised zones. Olympio says the structural interpretation of the Paquin gold mineralisation is ongoing will inform further drilling of the prospect.
The latest assays confirm multiple gold intercepts including 5.4m @ 7.6 grams per tonne gold from 184m, including 0.35m @ 42.3g/t gold; and 7.9m @ 6.20g/t gold from 138m, including 1.3m @ 17g/t gold.
As a result of the ongoing drilling program, the first two holes have extended the known gold mineralisation at Paquin a further 60m to the west.
Managing Director Sean Delaney there are numerous gold targets over a 3km strike length and the company will continue to drill test the strike to see if the company can connect the zones of known gold mineralisation.
“The Bousquet Project continues to impress at every turn, and with more assay results due and ongoing drilling, we look forward to continued newsflow over the coming months from this highly prospective and under-explored project,” Delaney says.
To date, three holes have been drilled for 902m, as part of an ongoing 10,000m diamond drilling program. The third hole intersected numerous zones of smoky quartz-carbonate veining with associated sulphides. Assays remain pending for the third hole.
Olympio has an option to acquire up to 80% of the Bousquet Project which lies on the Cadillac-Lake Larder Fault Zone, also known as the Cadillac Break in Québec, Canada.
Olympio Metals is a junior mineral explorer focused on its critical minerals portfolio in Australia and Canada. The company’s projects are considered prospective primarily for copper and gold.
