Olympio kicks off Bousquet drilling

Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY) has begun a 10,000m diamond drilling program at the Bousquet Gold Project in Québec, Canada.

The first phase of drilling, comprising 10 holes for 2,400m, is taking place at the Paquin and Decoeur prospects. Phase two will be planned based on the results returned from phase one.

At the Paquin prospect, drilling will target western strike extension of the structural quartz vein hosted gold system.

Meanwhile at Decoeur, drilling will focus on depth extension to mineralised litho-structural Piché group analogue gold host, as well as the Decoeur extension which is a large induced polarisation anomaly on under-explored regional Archean bounding structure.

Managing Director Sean Delaney says the company has local company Diafor’s diamond drill rig onsite and the program is ahead of schedule.

“The Decoeur drilling will test targets on the regional Bousquet Fault, including an unexplored zone along strike to the east,” Delaney says.

The Bousquet Project complements Olympio’s flagship Dufay Gold-Copper Project, located 65km to the west along the Cadillac Break. Bousquet includes several advanced gold prospects and numerous structural and geophysical targets that remain untested by drilling or modern exploration.

Olympio Metals is an Australian mineral explorer focused on discovering and developing projects considered primarily prospective for gold and critical minerals.
