OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) has provided updates on ongoing exploration at the Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, having completed phase one, which comprised around 320 soil samples and around 40 stream sediment samples.
As Mining.com.au previously reported, phase one targeted the Horseshoe Deposit, with channel sampling results returning ‘ultra-high-grade’ intercepts. These included 12m @ 68.9% calcium fluoride (with a peak value of 79.7% calcium fluoride), 7m @ 73.1% calcium fluoride (peak 82%), and 2m @ 75% calcium fluoride (peak 79.9%).
Other phase one work targeted extensions of the Mammoth Deposit, follow-up at the Horseshoe-Jumbo corridor, first exploration at the 70,000m2 Lithocap, high-grade veins at Rocket-Big Jim-Spar, and the unexplored 700,000m2 Dress Circle target.
Managing Director Brett Hazelden says that OD6 has made “significant on-ground progress” after acquiring the project two months ago.
“The first pass soils and stream sediment sampling has been completed, and we await assay results,” Hazelden says.
“This work will be important in understanding the signatures of known deposits and assist with targeting throughout our large package.
“With our recently reported ultra-high-grade fluorspar results from preliminary due diligence, we are pleased to get back to conduct more mapping and sampling as part of phase two. This work, along with a survey of access tracks, will enable better drill targeting and planning for the next programs.”
Phase two builds on early success
Phase two is also now nearing completion, building on the work from phase one, and expanding beyond initial targets to test an 8km-long alteration corridor with extensive mapping and sampling.
Work is focusing on channel sampling and detailed geological mapping across all fluorspar exposures at Horseshoe and Mammoth. It also includes reconnaissance mapping and sampling at historic occurrences at Big Jim, Spar, Jumbo, Rocket, and North Horseshoe, as well as mapping and sampling across the 1.1km Horseshoe-Jumbo Corridor, including the 70,000m2 Lithocap.
OD6 is also clearing survey access tracks for first drilling, collecting metallurgical test samples for testwork (including optical sorting, crushing, grinding, and flotation), and performing other due diligence.
The company is collecting new data to test the quality of historic reports. This is in connection with the option to acquire the project in early March 2026
