OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) has returned ‘ultra-high-grade’ fluorspar channel sampling results from its Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, with values up to 75% calcium fluoride.
Channel sampling results from the Horseshoe prospect returned intercepts including 12m at 68.9% calcium fluoride, with a peak value of 79.7% calcium fluoride, 7m @ 73.1% calcium fluoride, with a peak value of 82% calcium fluoride, and 2m @ 75% calcium fluoride, with a peak value of 79.9% calcium fluoride.
The company collected samples at 1m intervals across three different exposures within historic open pits.
Results validate historical production grades from small-scale mining operations in the 1950s and 1960s, when approximately 26,000 tonnes of material was extracted from surface outcrops.
OD6 says geological indicators illustrate that the surface expression could represent a larger mineralised system that extends both up and down dip.
Mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth at the project. Only a portion of the mapped 3,000m2 system at Horseshoe has been tested to date.
Managing Director Brett Hazelden says the company will now focus on expanding sampling activities, refining geological controls, advancing towards drill targeting, and weighing up options for bulk metallurgical samples.
“We thought the results from Mammoth were high-grade at 30–50% calcium fluoride, yet the results from Horseshoe have simply eclipsed those with even higher grades averaging over 70% calcium fluoride,” Hazelden says.
Hazelden says the grades support potential for direct shipping ore as metallurgical-grade fluorspar, with clear pathways to upgrade material to acid-grade quality exceeding 97% calcium fluoride.
“The grades observed are well within the range for metallurgical-grade fluorspar, with potential for direct shipping or further upgrading to AcidSpar.
“This could enable application to the White House for FAST-41 Status, accelerated permitting support, and an early mining operation with expansion capability.”
The Horseshoe prospect covers a 3,000m² area with geological indicators suggesting the surface expression represents a larger mineralised system extending beneath silicified cap rock and cover.
The company secured an option to acquire the Quinn Fluorspar Project in March 2026, located approximately 220km north of Las Vegas.
OD6 plans to expand systematic channel and rock chip sampling, validate historic high-grade results, and undertake detailed geological mapping.
The company will complete soil geochemistry programs, identify drill targets, and initiate permitting for maiden drilling while progressing metallurgical test work planning.
