Nuvau Minerals Matagami prospect in Québec, Canada

Nuvau plans 17,500m drilling campaign at Matagami

Nuvau Minerals (TSX-V:NMC) is planning to drill 17,500m across multiple zinc-copper and gold targets at its Matagami mining district project in Québec, Canada, with a second drill rig to be commissioned in early July and a third rig planned for the fall.

The campaign targets several priority areas, including follow-up drilling at the Daniel volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) and Thunderwood gold targets, plus first-time drill testing of the Airport and ED-1 geophysical targets.

Nuvau will also advance the Lotto gold target, generated through the company’s regional gold-in-till program, which contains a sampled interval with more than 2,000 gold grains per 10kg.

CEO Christina McCarthy says the program reflects a district-scale approach following the company’s 100% acquisition of the Matagami property earlier this year.

“The 2026 program reflects this approach, advancing several priority zinc-copper VMS targets while also expanding our growing gold exploration pipeline,” McCarthy adds.

The Airport target will test a geophysical anomaly within a favourable volcanic sequence along the structural corridor that hosts the historic Perseverance mine, sitting near existing infrastructure with no previous drilling.

At Daniel, the company will conduct follow-up drilling at the Daniel-25 zone, a ‘high-grade’ VMS lens discovered by Glencore in 2015. The area has seen limited exploration since 2019 despite positive historical results.

The ED-1 VMS target is the first drilling to test priority targets generated through geological interpretations and multiple geophysical datasets in an area where forest and wetland cover have historically limited exploration.

Thunderwood drilling will build on a recently completed winter campaign that confirmed multiple types of mineralisation and quartz veining.

Nuvau controls a 1,380km² land package at Matagami and benefits from access to permitted mining infrastructure, including an option on a 3,000-tonne-per-day concentrator.
