Norwest Minerals (ASX:NWM) is reviewing and modelling the newly acquired gravity data to gain a better understanding of iron-oxide-copper-gold and other critical mineral targets at its Arunta West Project in Western Australia.
The $12.41 million market capitalisation company recently completed a ground gravity program covering the 182km2 E80/5031 tenement, led by Atlas Geophysics.
The pre-processed gravity anomalies are reportedly coincident to many critical mineral geochemical anomalies identified in 2022 from more than 13,000 soil samples.
CEO Charles Schaus says potential IOCG, carbonatite, kimberlite and other critical mineral targets for drill testing will be a priority once the gravity processing including 3D work by SGC is finalised.
“Fortunately, our critical mineral targets fall within areas that were cleared for drilling late last year,” he says.
In March 2024 the company announced the discovery of 31 new critical mineral targets from an open-file geophysical study conducted by SGC. The targets encompass the various deposit styles of interest within the Arunta West tenure package.
Prior to the discovery, Norwest acquired four tenements in the West Arunta region including tenements immediately adjacent to tenements held by WA1 Resources (ASX:WA1) and Encounter Resources (ASX:ENR).
The Arunta West project tenements extend over 100km west from the Western Australia to Northern Territory state border straddling the contact between the West Arunta Belt volcanics and the sediments of the Bitter Springs Formation.
Norwest Minerals is a mineral explorer with a portfolio of projects considered prospective for rare earth elements, copper, gold, and base metals.
