Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) has completed the fourth drillhole of the Wedge Copper Project, located in Canada, as part of the western extension drill program.
CEO Patrick Cruickshank says the program has displayed hard work from 3D modelling of historical data and geophysical work, as well as compilation, interpretation, and hours of consultation with experts.
“Our team is already laying the groundwork for the second phase of the Wedge program and the Tribag, West Wedge Program for this spring, testing this string of anomalies stretching over 6km west of our Wedge deposit,” Cruickshank says.
The closing of our oversubscribed financing ensures an extensive 2026-2027 exploration program at all four projects in our portfolio including our return to Nine Mile Brook.
“Our financial strength should allow us to have a lengthy program this year with the luxury of not having to raise for the foreseeable future reducing dilution risk for our shareholders.”
Hole DDH-WD-2504 was drilled at 40m of mineralisation, first intersection at 158m and continuing to 198m. Once again, secondary copper, coupled with covellite and bronite, was present in the hole.
Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says drilling continues to intersect massive to semi-massive copper bearing mineralisation in the western portion of Wedge.
“The mineralised sheared rhyolite encountered in the drillhole is significant, now appearing in numerous holes with variable amounts of copper bearing sulphides,” Lohman says.
“Again, the presence of covellite +/- bornite confirms the presence of a significant copper bearing system. When modeled, this unit will assist in targeting future drill holes since it is generally flanked by massive volcanic massive sulphide.”
As previously reported, Cruickshank said the Wedge Project is “definitely a special copper rich deposit”, after receiving certified sample assay results collected from a pre-drill area.
The Wedge Project, covering 35.83km2, is located in New Brunswick, Canada. The project was historically mined and produced 1.503 million tonnes @ 2.88% copper, 0.65% lead, 1.81% zinc, and 20.6 grams per tonne silver.
