ENRG Elements (ASX:EEL) says the Government of Niger has confirmed its support for mining activities in the country, adding that exploration renewals for its Agadez Uranium Project are expected to be granted shortly.
The Agadez Project consists of three exploration permits in the Tim Mersoi Basin, which is considered one of the world’s major uranium producing areas.
ENRG, which has a market capitalisation of $5 million, was granted a two-year extension to the permits in March 2022, and has since applied for a renewal through to November 2027.
Managing Director Caroline Keats says the company has maintained a strong relationship with the Niger Government since the Agadez Project was acquired in 2022.
“The support we have received and the imminent grant of our permit renewals reaffirms our commitment to advancing the Agadez Uranium Project,” she says.
“We are dedicated to contributing to the development of Niger’s mining sector and are excited about the future prospects of our project at what is a very exciting time in the uranium sector.”
Since acquiring Agadez, ENRG has conducted a 5,500m drilling program and published a resource estimate for the Takardeit deposit measuring 31.2 million tonnes @ 315 parts per million triuranium octoxide, representing 21.5 million pounds of contained triuranium octoxide.
ENRG has also conducted a ground survey and trenching program which confirmed the company’s assessment of the geology and mineralisation, particularly within the Takardeit deposit area.
