NexGold Mining (TSX-V:NEXG) has expanded its reverse circulation (RC) infill drilling program at the Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia, Canada, to 40,000m from 30,000m.
The company reports ‘high-grade’ intersections including 12.06 grams per tonne gold (Au) over 6.0m and 3.84g/t Au over 18.0m from the ongoing program targeting near-surface mineralisation within the West and East pits.
The RC infill drilling focuses on selected areas of the Goldboro deposit at 12.5m spacing down to 50m depths.
The program aims to upgrade mineral resources from indicated to measured using drilling techniques that approximate production drilling and associated dilution.
Results released cover 3,420m of drilling from 72 RC holes in the west pit area. Cumulatively, NexGold has released results for 154 drill holes representing 6,685m, with additional holes pending assay.
“The drilling continues to confirm the continuity, tenor and thickness of near-surface mineralization within the proposed West pit area at a higher level of detail,” CEO Kevin Bullock says.
“The program is also providing additional geological and grade information in areas that are currently contemplated in the early years of the Goldboro mine plan.”
This expanded program targets the first few years of planned production at Goldboro, which is accessible by drill rig.
NexGold expects to include results in a future updated mineral resource estimate independent of the ongoing updated Feasibility Study (FS).
The company completed an FS for Goldboro, effective 16 December 2021. The updated FS is expected to be completed in Q3 2026, while the reverse circulation program continues into the fourth quarter.
NexGold Mining is a Nova Scotia-focused gold developer advancing the Goldboro project.
