NewPeak Metals (ASX:NPM) is gearing up to begin uranium-focused exploration work across its Stewart Lake and Nanuk projects in Québec and Labrador, Canada.
The company intends to kick off field exploration in the next month across these projects, as well as its Treuer Range Project in the Northern Territory.
Fieldwork will consist of geological mapping, scintillometer traverses, and outcrop sampling. Geochemical samples will be submitted to a laboratory for multi-element analyses.
At Stewart Lake, there are four zones of anomalous uranium mineralisation that were identified within an area of 12km by 6km.
NewPeak says outcrop results include 0.8% triuranium octoxide in the Centurion Ridge and 0.46% triuranium octoxide in the Kogaluk Zone.
At the Nanuk Project, there are three zones of high anomalous uranium mineralisation within an area of 10km by 4km, with results returning up to 1.18% triuranium octoxide.
Meanwhile, at Treuer Range, exploration will be carried over similar geological and radiometric anomalies as the Bigrlyi Uranium-Vanadium deposit, where a resource estimate of 6.32 million tonnes @ 0.153% triuranium octoxide has been defined within the Mount Eclipse sandstone.
A team of experienced Australian geologists have been retained to carry out the fieldwork.
