NewPeak Metals (ASX:NPM) has completed diamond drilling at its Tansey Gold Project in South East Queensland, with assay results expected within eight weeks.
The company has completed four diamond drill holes totalling 1,179m at the wholly-owned project, targeting high-grade, large-scale gold mineralisation.
Managing Director Mark Purcell says the drilling program was completed without incident and within the expected three-week timeframe.
“Drilling has now concluded at Tansey, finishing without incident and within the expected three-week duration,” Purcell says.
“Assay results are expected in the next six to eight weeks and our board remains excited about the potential for these results to assist in the discovery of a large, high-grade gold deposit.”
The company reports drill core samples are currently being delivered to ALS laboratory in Brisbane for sample preparation and assaying.
NewPeak plans to release final hole locations, depths and orientations alongside the assay results once received.
The company says completion of drilling at Tansey represents a strong start to 2026, with additional value catalysts including a planned drill program at its Las Opeñas gold project in Argentina.
NewPeak also holds approximately 4.4 million shares in ASX-listed Lakes Blue Energy, which last traded at $1.29 on 12 February 2026. The company says this shareholding provides potential upside through Lakes’ current testing of the Wombat-5 gas well in Victoria’s Gippsland Basin.
