New Frontier Minerals (LSE:NFM) has started a maiden 2,500m reverse circulation drilling program to test the depth extensions of the near surface mineralisation at the Harts Range Heavy Rare Earths and Niobium Project.
The drilling campaign will comprise up to 46 drillholes for 2,500m to test the numerous prospects that have been identified from the exploration activities undertaken at Harts Range over the past 12 months.
It will be targeting multiple high-priority anomalies defined through regional geophysics, detailed geological mapping and surface geochemistry completed over the past 12 months
With logistics and site preparation complete, GeoDrill have mobilised to site and begin the maiden program, which has been designed to test depth extensions to the near-surface zones of high-grade heavy rare earth and niobium mineralisation, identified from field campaigns .
Chairman Gerrard Hall says the project, located 140km north-east of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, Australia, has already returned “outstanding heavy rare earth and niobium grades at surface, including high-value dysprosium and terbium, highlighting its strong potential”.
Hall says the reverse circulation program is specifically designed to test the depth continuity of these mineralised systems and assess the scale of the high-grade HREE nature of the mineralisation identified to date.
“With all approvals secured, the team is well positioned to deliver meaningful technical results. We anticipate drilling will be completed before the end of the year, with assay results expected early in the new year,” Hall says.
