Neometals (ASX:NMT) has identified numerous drill targets along strike and adjacent to the historic Rinaldi Copper workings within the Barrambie Gold Project in Western Australia, following induced polarisation geophysical surveying.
The company returned a ‘strong’ coincident chargeability and resistivity response from the surveying, which was located 700m northeast to historical workings at Rinaldi.
Neometals also noted moderate chargeability responses along strike and below the Rinaldi workings.
The Rinaldi Copper workings are located along strike from Solstice Minerals’ (ASX:SLS) Nanadie Copper Project. The workings are situated within the same geological and stratigraphic setting hosted within the Barrambie Greenstone Belt.
Historical copper mining in the area previously delivered 138 tonnes @ 9.8% copper, while recent drilling beneath the workings returned 7m @ 1.72% copper and 25.9 grams per tonne silver from 82m.
Managing Director Chris Reed says the survey has delivered a “clear set of drill targets in a highly prospective copper setting”.
“Importantly, the results also identify responses below and along strike from known copper mineralisation, reinforcing the potential for the Rinaldi system to extend beyond the historical mining area,” Reed says.
“We are now prioritising drill design and approvals so these targets can be tested as part of the RC (reverse circulation) program which is planned to commence in June.”
Neometals is currently preparing approval documents to include these targets in the planned infill and extension reverse circulation drilling campaign at the Ironclad deposit.
