Gorilla Gold Mines (ASX:GG8) has reported further ‘high-grade’ intercepts at its Val discovery, with drilling extending mineralisation 150m down‑dip and identifying new parallel lodes at the fully permitted Vivien Gold Project in Western Australia.
Hole VIVEX025 returned 4.5m at @ grams per tonne gold (Au) from 321.9m and 0.9m @ 23g/t Au from 311.3m, marking the deepest intercepts to date at the southern end of Val.
Additional results include 2m @ 4.1g/t Au from 291.6m in VIVEX021, extending mineralisation 100m down‑dip of previous drilling, and 5.1m at 2.3g/t Au from 291.6m in VIVEX020 in a new footwall position 100m from the main Val lode.
The Val discovery now extends over more than 400m of strike and 400m down‑dip, with multiple parallel lodes identified. The prospect sits just 30m from the Vivien open pit wall and 70m from underground infrastructure.
The project hosts a mineral resource of 278,000 ounces @ 4.2g/t Au.
CEO Charles Hughes says the latest results demonstrate ‘resource growth potential’ at Vivien.
“High-grade mineralisation has been defined at Val over more than 400m of strike and 400m down-dip, with multiple lodes identified and the system completely open both along strike to the north and south and at depth,” Hughes notes.
“What makes Val particularly compelling is its location just 30m from the Vivien open pit wall and 70m from underground infrastructure, providing us with a clear strategic advantage as we continue to grow the discovery.”
The company notes Val sits on a previously untested perpendicular structure to the Vivien Main structure, highlighting potential for further discoveries. Vivien has historically produced about 370,000 ounces at an average grade of approximately 5.5g/t Au.
Drilling at Vivien will recommence in the coming weeks, targeting further growth at Val and the Vince prospects.
