Astute Metals (ASX:ASE) is testing six priority targets at the Needles Gold Project in Nevada with a reverse circulation program scheduled to begin later this month.
The company will target the Eastern Shaft, Tomahawk, Arrowhead Mine, Arrowhead East, and Whopper Junior prospects following permitting approval from the Bureau of Land Management.
Chairman Tony Leibowitz says the company is excited to gear up for this drilling campaign, after completing a “detailed” review of historical data.
“Each of the targets has demonstrated either high-grade historical gold-silver hits or compelling anomalism for pathfinder elements, with the potential to deliver new discoveries for Astute in one of the world’s premier gold and silver mining districts,” Leibowitz says
Astute is targeting historical samples returned from the Eastern Shaft, which ranged in grade up to 33 grams per tonne gold and 622g/t silver across two campaigns.
The company has planned two drillholes at Eastern Shaft, as well as another two at Tomahawk, following up previous samples that ranged up to 5.54g/t gold and 406g/t silver.
One drillhole will be conducted at the Arrowhead Mine to test mineralisation down dip with previous intersections to the north and south including 3.42m @ 2.92g/t gold and 905g/t silver from 25.54m, and 1.6m @ 3.8g/t gold and 546g/t silver from 17.6m.
The Arrowhead East prospect will undergo drilling at two targets, and the Whopper Junior prospect is facing drilling to test deeper levels of previously discovered gold and silver.
