Navarre Minerals (ASX: NML) has reported further ‘outstanding, high-grade’ gold intercepts from a 2021 drilling campaign at its Crush Creek Gold Project, part of the newly-acquired Mt Carlton operation in north Queensland.
Highlight intercepts from the project’s BV7 prospect include:
- Hole B721DD039: 3.1m @ 211.6 g/t Au from 94.8m
- Hole B721DD049: 5.0m @ 9.2 g/t Au from 96m
- Hole B721DD056: 4.0m @ 5.1 g/t Au from 101m
- Hole B721DD058C: 14.3m @ 3.5 g/t Au from 121m
In addition, an intercept of 2.0m @ 13.7 g/t Au from 170m was returned from the early-stage Gamma Prospect.
The miner reports that the results continue to enhance project development opportunities at Crush Creek, with potential for output to be used as satellite mill feed for the nearby Mt Carlton processing facility.
Speaking on the results, Navarre Minerals Managing Director Ian Holland said: “These high-grade gold results continue to highlight the project development opportunities present within the Crush Creek project area as potential satellite operations approximately 30 kilometres from the recently acquired Mt Carlton processing facility.
“These high-grade gold results continue to highlight the project development opportunities present within the Crush Creek project area”
The Company is pleased with the tenor and width of the gold results returned from the 2021 Crush Creek drilling program. The latest impressive, shallow, high-grade 655 gram-metre-gold downhole intersection in drill hole B721DD039 reinforces our belief that the delineated mineralisation at BV7 has the potential to significantly extend mine life at Mt Carlton.”
The 2021 Crush Creek drilling program was tasked with understanding and improving the Inferred Mineral Resources defined at the BV7 and Delta deposits, as well as providing initial testing for new discoveries within the broader project area.
The program was carried out via two diamond and one RC drill rigs, targeting shallow resources at Delta and BV7, as well as testing regional targets including Delta South, Gamma, Apollo, Rigel, Taurus, Hale Bopp, and Max’s Vein. In 2021, a total of 111 drill holes were completed for 16,903m.

Moving forward, Navarre reports that drilling results will underpin a new Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve Estimate for the Mt Carlton Operation, which is expected to be delivered in March 2022. This would include an updated Mineral Resource Estimate for Crush Creek, along with an updated Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve Statement for several other Mt Carlton mineral deposits.
Exploration work at Crush Creek is currently paused for the wet season, and is expected to resume in Q2 2022.
