Native Mineral Resources preps Maneater drilling

Mineral explorer Native Mineral Resources (ASX:NMR) is looking to undertake a diamond drilling program at its Maneater Hill Project in Far North Queensland in September this year.

The company says the planned drilling will comprise 6 drillholes for 2,000m and has been designed to test priority targets highlighted from a pole dipole induced polarisation (PDIP) survey.

Native Mineral Resources, which has a $7.49 million market capitalisation, reports the priority focus of upcoming drilling will be the new 900m-long chargeability high anomaly, known as the Eastern Anomaly, which is associated with the Maneater Hill magnetic anomaly.

This anomaly is open to both the north and south, up to 400m deep, 150m wide, and located near surface. No part of this newly identified 900m anomaly has been drill tested to date.

The company notes it has a ‘strong’ pipeline of activity planned for the remainder of 2023, with initial work programs also being planned for its recently acquired McLaughlin Lake Lithium Project in Canada.

Speaking on the start of drilling, Native Mineral Resources Managing Director Blake Cannavo says: “MNR is delighted to be back on the ground at Maneater to test the newly identified Eastern Anomaly. Maneater continues to shape as an exciting project for NMR, and the identification of this new 900m anomaly, which remains open to the north and south, further supports our view that Maneater has the potential to host a large polymetallic mineralised system.

Along with accelerating our work at Maneater, our team is busy finalising our initial work program for the recently acquired McLaughlin Lake Lithium project in Canada, which we expect to be able to report further details on shortly.”

Native Mineral Resources is an ASX-listed copper-gold project generator with a focused approach on creating and developing company growth through exploration campaigns across current projects and the targeted acquisition of new project areas.

The company’s Maneater Hill project is located about 100km west of the city of Cairns and represents a proven mineralised breccia pipe where further exploration is required below the current level of exploration.
