Narryer Metals (ASX:NYM) has appointed Dean Hildebrand to the company’s board as a non-executive director to support the company’s portfolio advancement.
Hildebrand is an experienced finance and investment professional with experience in the natural resources sector.
Previous roles span private equity investment, portfolio management, and the evaluation of investment opportunities in mining and energy industries.
Currently, Hildebrand manages the investment portfolio of a large family office, Mimaro Group. Mimaro Group is a substantial shareholder of Narryer Metals.
He previously served as a director for US-based private equity firm Black Mountain, which focuses on upstream and midstream energy and mining investments across the US and Asia-Pacific.
His role at Narryer intends to strengthen the board’s financial, investment, and strategic capabilities while the company continues to advance its portfolio of critical mineral projects in Australia, Canada, and Chile.
Executive Chairman Richard Bevan says the board is delighted to welcome Hildebrand.
“Dean brings valuable experience in natural resources investment, capital markets, and strategic investment management, which will complement the existing skills and expertise of our board,” Bevan says.
“His experience in evaluating and managing investments across the mining and energy sectors will be particularly valuable as we continue to progress our critical minerals portfolio and assess opportunities to create long-term value for shareholders.
“We look forward to working with Dean and benefiting from his insights and experience as we advance the company’s strategy.”
Strategic moves
Just last month, Narryer announced its intention to acquire the Redhill Copper Project in Chile for 20 million in shares and a $1 million milestone payment.
As previously reported, the acquisition was intended to give Narryer a foothold in a ‘premier copper jurisdiction’, with the project hosting a resource estimate of 4.3 million tonnes (Mt) @ 1.70% copper (Cu), 33 grams per tonne silver (Ag), and 0.30g/t gold (Au).
Through this acquisition, 29Metals (ASX:29M) agreed to invest $1 million at $0.10 per share, representing a 54% premium to market prices at the time.
Redhill hosts an exploration target of 16–49Mt @ 1.20–2.60% Cu, 0.40–0.40g/t Au, and 34–55g/t Ag. Mineralisation remains open along the current 5km strike length.
This transaction is conditional until regulatory approvals have been obtained, which are due by 31 December 2026.
Narryer Metals is a critical minerals explorer focused on advancing assets in Australia, Canada, and Chile.
