Military Metals (CSE:MILI) intends to conduct exploration activities at the West Gore Antimony Project in Nova Scotia, Canada, after signing an access agreement with the project’s surface rights owners.
The one-year deal provides for joint access of the surface holders and Military Metals for a range of activities, including drilling once drill targets have been delineated.
Military Metals also plans to compile and review all historical records, as well as undertake a high-resolution drone magnetic survey at West Gore. The survey will assist in the delineation of drill targets to test for additional mineralised zones associated with the historical West Gore Antimony Mine.
Military Metals adds that renewal rights will be granted to the company for three one year terms.
CEO Scott Eldridge says the company is excited to begin exploration work at the past producing West Gore Project.
“The project has a significant history, as one of Canada’s largest antimony producers during World War One,” Eldridge says.
“The mine ceased production, when its then final shipment of antimony concentrate headed for the UK was sunk by a U-boat. The historical ore body remains open along strike and open at depth within a now consolidated land package with potential for further discoveries.”
Eldridge adds that Nova Scotia’s Premier Tim Houston has been promoting the province as a hub for critical minerals development.
“His public message has been very direct, aiming to attract investment and position Nova Scotia as a reliable and sustainable source of these materials,” Eldridge says.
“His provincial government has lifted bans and streamlined regulations to encourage mining and resource development, at a much-needed time.”
In May 2025, Nova Scotia expanded its focus on critical and strategic minerals to create jobs, attract investment and help advance the move to clean energy. The provincial government added four minerals to its critical minerals list and created a new list of four strategic minerals.
The additional minerals include high purity silica, silver, tellurium, uranium, aggregate, gold, gypsum, and potash.
Military Metals is a British Columbia-based mineral explorer focused on acquiring, discovering, and developing projects prospective for antimony and gold.
Antimony is classified as a critical mineral due to its essential properties for various industrial and defence applications. The mineral’s role in military technology includes ammunition and electronic devices.
