Military Metals (CSE:MILI) has begun a laser-imaging, detection and ranging (LiDAR) survey of the underground workings at the Trojárová antimony-gold deposit in Slovakia.
The company aims to accurately determine the location of these workings, with the survey designed to enable a more precise documentation of the location of the historical underground samples.
As a result, Military Metals will be provided with an accurate three-dimensional deposit model currently being developed by SLR Consulting.
The survey is expected to be completed sometime this week.
CEO Scott Eldridge says the context of further refining the exploration work at Trojárová shows the need for the projects that have potential to provide stable sources of antimony to western countries.
“Specifically, antimony prices continue to achieve new all-time highs; the most recent price posted in Europe is US$59,800 ($94,614) per metric tonne,” Eldridge says.
“Defence sector spending in Europe is increasing dramatically as the continent races to re-arm. The EU (European Union) has adopted a much-needed swift toward increased defense and security, and the drive for strategic independence from the US emphasises Europe’s growing efforts to reduce reliance on US military support.
“The importance of domestically sourced raw materials shines the spotlight on Trojárová as a strategic asset.”
In addition, the Military will collect more than 20kg of mineralised material from the project for a custom antimony analytical standard to be developed for quality assurance, quality control purposes for an upcoming drilling program.
Military Metals is a British Columbia-based mineral explorer focused on engaging in acquisitions, exploration, and development of mineral properties with a focus on antimony.
The Trojárová Project sits near Bratislava in Western Slovakia, and is on trend and the likely continuation of the historical Pezinok Antimony-Gold Mine.
