MetalsTech (ASX:MTC) reports it has found visible gold through the company’s Phase II diamond drilling program at its 100% owned Sturec Gold Mine, located in Slovakia.
During sampling, visible gold was identified in UGA-52 at 127.55m downhole in an approximately 1cm thick, drusy, white to translucent, quartz-pyrite veinlet and is present as up to around 1cm sized aggregates made up of many less than 0.5mm sized grains.
The visible gold in UGA-52 was hosted within a 32.5m (107.2 to 139.7m downhole) wide zone of variably argillic altered, veined and hydrothermally brecciated andesite in the drill core.

UGA-52 was positioned as an extension drillhole below the existing Sturec Mineral Resource, and below UGA-14, and UGA-13 which were drilled in 2021.
UGA-52 intersected approximately 32.5m of variably argillic altered and brecciated andesite host rock containing varying amounts of quartz filled vein/stockwork/breccia, variably rich in fine to very fine grained sulphides (mainly pyrite and marcasite) from approximately 107.2m to 139.7m downhole.
MetalsTech will provide an update on UGA-52 in the coming weeks as the core has been sampled and will be dispatched to the laboratory as soon as possible.
UGA-14 intersected a ‘thick, continuous’ mineralised zone of 108m @ 2.22g/t Au and 7.6g/t Ag from 26m (0.25g/t Au cut-off, downhole thickness) including:
- 60m @ 3.69g/t Au and 9.8g/t Ag from 73m (0.5g/t Au cut-off)
- Including 42m @ 4.98g/t Au and 11.9g/t Ag from 91m (1g/t Au cut-off)
- Including 10m @ 16.98g/t Au and 26.4g/t Ag from 95m (2g/t Au cut-off)
UGA-13 intersected a mineralised zone of 19m @ 4.25g/t Au and 3.7g/t Ag from 152m (0.25g/t Au cut-off, downhole thickness) including 5m @ 14.90g/t Au and 6.1g/t Ag from 157m (0.5g/t Au cut-off).
The Sturec Gold Mine is located in central Slovakia between the town of Kremica and the village of Lučky, 17km west of central Slovakia’s largest city, Banská Bystrica, and 150km northeast of the capital, Bratislava.
Sturec is a low sulphidation epithermal system and contains a total Mineral Resource of 38.5Mt @ 1.23g/t Au and 8.8g/t Ag, containing 1.522Moz of gold and 10.93Moz of silver using a 0.26g/t Au cut-of within an optimised open pit shell, as well as 148kt @ 3.55g/t Au and 12.6g/t Ag, containing 17koz of gold and 60koz of silver outside the optimised open pit shell on an underground mining basis; reported in accordance with JORC (2012).
MetalsTech is a Western Australia based exploration and mining company with key projects including the Sturec Gold Project in Slovakia.
