MetalsGrove Mining (ASX:MGA) has confirmed ‘strong’ light rare earth element (LREE) potential at its Bruce prospect in the Northern Territory through a mineralogy analysis conducted in the area.
The critical metals explorer and developer conducted a mineralogy analysis of reverse circulation (RC) chip samples from the prospect, the results of which demonstrated that Bruce has a ‘large’ and ‘high-grade’ REE footprint.
Exploration to date has highlighted ‘high-grade’ carbonatite of 38% total rare earth oxide (TREO), 58% heavy rare earth oxide (HREO)/TREO, 28% neodymium and praseodymium (NdPr)/TREO and 36% yttrium oxide (Y2O3)/TREO from the area, with multiple zones of mineralisation.
The company notes the carbonatite outcrops extend the strike east-west by 9km and remain open.

MetalsGrove Mining Managing Director Sean Sivasamy says the company is encouraged by the outcomes from the mineralogy testwork and considers this to be a step forward in developing its next work programs.

MetalsGrove is now finalising plans to systematically explore and extend this mineralised zone with follow-up drilling.
The company notes soil sampling assay results remain pending.
The Bruce prospect is located within the company’s Arunta Project, north of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. The prospect covers an area of 17,722 hectares.
MetalsGrove Mining is an Australia-based explorer and developer focused on lithium, rare earths, copper-gold, manganese, and base metals.
As of 30 June 2023, MetalsGrove had $3.105 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
