Metals Creek Resources (TSX-V: MEK) has intercepted ‘high-grade’ gold mineralisation during its latest diamond drilling campaign at the Ogden Gold Project in Timmins, Ontario.
Significant intercepts include 40.61 grams per tonne gold over 2.60m from 326.60m, 152g/t gold over 0.60m; and 8.43g/t gold over 13.25m.
Drilling also intersected 0.58g/t gold over 7.95m within a footwall felsic dike at the lower ultramafic contact.
The three-hole diamond drilling program totaled 1,233m and targeted the lower portion of the Thomas Ogden Zone fold structure, which features a shallow easterly plunge.
President and CEO Alexander Stares says the program continues to build off the zone’s prior ‘high-grade’ results.
“We have undertaken a more systematic approach to further defining the structural aspect with regards to the orientation of the gold-bearing veins utilising structural data from previous campaigns,” Stares says.
“We are especially encouraged [by] intersecting visible gold in all three holes as well as a strong pervasive alteration system.”
Metals Creek operates the Ogden Gold Project under a 50/50 joint venture with Discovery Mining (TSX:DSV).
The asset sits 6km south of Timmins and spans an 8km strike length along the Porcupine-Destor Fault.
Assay results for the final two drill holes will be released once they are received and compiled.
Metals Creek Resources is a Canadian junior mineral explorer undertaking the evaluation, acquisition, and development of properties across Canada, with flagship operations focusing on gold and natural hydrogen and helium.
