Metals Creek Resources (TSX-V:MEK) has reported gold assay results from its latest drilling at the Ogden Gold Project in Ontario, Canada.
Drill hole TOG-26-76 returned 9.85m @ 115.51 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 296.95m, including 3.1m @ 356.85g/t Au and 0.5m @ 2,050g/t Au. Visible gold was also observed.
Metals Creeks says the intercept is the second-highest-grade result to date at Ogden, behind 12.53m @ 210.19g/t Au from hole TOG-13-25 in 2013.
The company completed a three-hole, 1,233m diamond drilling program targeting the lower portion of the Thomas Ogden Zone fold structure. The zone hosts gold mineralisation within altered conglomerates and felsites with pyrite, with higher-grade gold associated with the fold axis.
Hole TOG-26-76 was designed to follow up hole TOG-22-73, which returned 5.61m @ 4.24g/t Au, is located about 75m vertically below the latest hole. Metals Creeks says the hole encountered a highly silicified felsite with quartz flooding, veining and disseminated pyrite.
The company says that its management is “highly encouraged” by the assay results to date, particularly the multiple occurrences of visible gold and ‘very high-grade’ gold assays returned from TOG-26-76.
The Thomas Ogden Zone hosts flat-lying mineralised structures within altered conglomerates and felsites. The company says mineralisation is spatially associated with the fold axis, intense folding, quartz veining, and hydrothermal alteration. Visible gold was observed in quartz-rich areas and along healed fractures associated with fuchsite.

Ogden operates as a 50:50 joint venture with Discovery Mining (TSX:DSV) — formerly under the name Discovery Silver — with Metals Creek serving as operator. The project sits 6km south of Timmins, Ontario, and covers an 8km strike length of the Porcupine-Destor Fault.
Metals Creek expects to report results from the remaining drill hole once assays have been received and compiled.
