Metallium appoints new CFO

Metallium (ASX:MTM) has appointed Tim Cooper as Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 October 2026.

Cooper has over 20 years of experience across corporate finance, project finance, and commercial leadership, having held senior roles with Strike Energy (ASX:STX), Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG), Quadrant Energy, and Advanced Personnel Management.

The appointment follows Stuart Fraser stepping down from the CFO position on 30 June 2026.

Managing Director Michael Walshe says Cooper’s appointment strengthens the executive team during a growth stage.

“His extensive experience in project development, corporate finance, and capital-intensive businesses will be invaluable as we advance the commercial deployment of our Flash Joule Heating technology platform in the United States, execute on our growth strategy, and continue engaging with both Australian and US capital markets,” Walshe says.

Cooper says Metallium addresses an opportunity in critical metals recovery and supply.

“I am delighted to be joining the company as it moves into its next phase of commercial execution and look forward to contributing to the development of a disciplined, scalable finance platform to support that growth,” Cooper says.

“This is an exceptional opportunity at such an important time, particularly for US domestic supply.”

The Group Financial Controller has assumed financial management duties during the transition under direct board oversight to ensure corporate governance.

Metallium is an industrial technology company and mineral explorer pioneering its Flash Joule Heating technology. It specialises in the sustainable recovery of critical, precious, and rare earth metals from e-waste, semiconductor waste, and ores.
