Meeka Metals confirms ‘high-grade’ gold at St Anne’s within Murchison Project in WA

Meeka Metals (ASX:MEK) has confirmed ‘high-grade’ gold through diamond drilling at St Anne’s, located within the Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia.

The company reports the following assay results include hole 22SADD001 with 7.8m @ 2.69g/t Au from 50.2m, including 2m @ 8.20g/t Au; 22SADD002 with 20.7m @ 3.29g/t Au from 54.3m including, 12.8m @ 5.21g/t Au; and 22SADD003 with 19.3m @ 1.27g/t Au from 39.7m including, 2.5m @ 7.04g/t Au.

Additionally, Meeka reports the results include up to 4m core loss within the mineralised interval where oxidised material has been washed out during the drilling process.

The assays have confirmed the ‘high-grade’ intervals returned from reverse circulation (RC) and aircore (AC) drilling during 2022, even when accounting for the up to 4m core loss which is assigned zero grade when reported as part of the broader mineralised interval.

“This drilling, completed to support the St Anne’s Mineral Resource, comminution test work and geotechnical evaluation for open pit design has confirmed the high-grade nature of the mineralisation”

Commenting on the results, Meeka Metals Managing Director Tim Davidson says: “This drilling, completed to support the St Anne’s Mineral Resource, comminution test work and geotechnical evaluation for open pit design has confirmed the high-grade nature of the mineralisation.

These high-grades were evident even after accounting for between 0.7m and 4.0m of core loss, which is assigned to zero gold grade when calculating the broader mineralised intercept.

Additionally, the high gold recoveries, rapid leach kinetics and low cyanide consumption, reported in December 2022 point to St Anne’s making a meaningful contribution to the Prefeasibility Study due in mid 2023.”

Meeka reports the initial mineral resource for St Anne’s remains on target for the March 2023 quarter.

Meeka also announces it will begin drilling along strike from St Anne’s at the 25km long Fairway shear zone to investigate coincident gold-arsenic anomalies in the coming weeks with first assays expected in the June quarter.

Meeka Metals is a gold and rare earths company with a portfolio of ‘high-quality’ wholly-owned projects across Western Australia.

Meeka’s flagship Murchison Gold Project has a combined 343km-square landholding in the prolific Murchison Gold Fields, hosting a large ‘high-grade; 1.2Moz JORC Resource.

Also included in the company’s portfolio is the Circle Valley Gold, and Circle Valley Rare Earths projects in the Albany-Fraser Mobile Belt, as well as the Cascade Rare Earths Project near Esperance.
