MaxMine, a technology and services solution for open-pit mine sites, has appointed Shaun Mitchell as its Chief Operations Officer (COO).
In his new role, Mitchell will focus on elevating MaxMine’s strategy and develop tactical practices to drive operational innovation and long-term growth.
Mitchell will also play a critical role in cementing the company’s position as a “leader” in delivering clear visibility and “groundbreaking” productivity, sustainability, and safety results for open-pit mine sites, with or without existing technology solutions.
MaxMine says its solutions help mines unlock the fullest potential of their resources while also changing market conditions and helping the industry advance towards achieving net zero goals.
Interim CEO Tom Cawley says Mitchell has a proven track record in growing businesses.
“With MaxMine on track for significant growth over the next 12 months, it’s the ideal time for a candidate of Shaun’s expertise and experience to join us,” Cawley says.
“His technical background will be extremely valuable for MaxMine as we continue to innovate our cutting-edge solutions, designed to meet the diverse needs of modern mining operations and drive sustainable, efficient and effective mining practices.”
Mitchell says the company is at the forefront of revolutionising open-cut mines by providing the entire toolchain required to improve productivity, safety, and sustainability, under the one solution, enabling improvement to be sustained over the life of mine.
“There’s no equivalent solution on the market today that can bring significant productivity, sustainability, and safety improvements, especially in a sector facing challenging commodity prices and rising costs,” he says.
“The growth potential is huge and I’m excited to be part of the journey.”
Mitchell has over two decades of experience in the industry, having held senior leadership roles at global cloud-based business management software provider ECi Software Solutions, and Australian home builder Metricon.
MaxMine is a next-generation technology solutions provider for open-cut mines. The company uses hardware that collects data in the mining sector, custom-builds smart algorithms, artificial intelligence, and software.
The company’s product captures, processes, and analyses mining operational data to help open-cut mine site operators gain insights with tailored integration with mine management processes.
